π€π‘ Cool Stuff we learned about last week π§ ππ
Three things we learned about last week
Follow Ethan Mollick for AI research paper summaries - like learnings that humans judge GPT 4o to be more human in its answers than humans or that AI enhances students productivity and outcomes when they use it as a partner, but not when they try to automate everything through AI.
Diversify the AI models you use - There is not only ChatGPT, but also for example Claude, Pi, Gemini, and Perplexity. They subjectively are valuable for different use cases - Perplexity for all things personalised search engine tasks (think Google but better π), Claude for sharp reasoning, Pi for emotional support and Gemini for a mixture of Claude and Perplexity.
Not new, but often helpful to point out - These models perform better if you play around with your prompts + make them more explicit. The first prompt is often not the best prompt and it needs some adapting to find the one that works best for your specific use case.
Cool AI Projects / Products we found in the NYC AI Ecosystem last week
Michael is building Catalyst - AI-powered Digital Human Clones and Behavioral Health Coaches to manage anxiety and overwhelm
Leon is building Siftsy - A multi-platform comment section analytics tool for marketers and brands for better audience insights
Yue is building Onki - A smart companion carrier βrobotβ that walks with you and carries things for you to walk handsfree and effortless
